RELATED AND SUPPORTIVE PROGRAMS & SERVICES
Transportation Services
Transportation is identified as a service to transfer individuals in a vehicle from the point of pick-up to a destination point. Transportation Services enable individuals to access non-medical community services, resources, destinations, or places of employment, as well as maintain or improve their mobility within the community, increase independence and community participation.
The Arc of LaGrange County provides transportation for non-residential individuals to Day Services. Our two group homes and residential waiver locations have their own vehicles to provide required transportation for programs and activities, such as trips to the grocery store, church, bank or other community outings. This is one of the many ways The Arc of LaGrange County works to help those we serve find independence and create a life of their own.

The Arc of LaGrange County has a contract with the Indiana Department of Transportation (IN-DOT) to provide janitorial and grounds keeping responsibilities at the Pigeon Creek Welcome Center, south of Angola on I-69 Southbound. We are responsible to staff the facility 18 hours a day 365 days a year, providing extended coverage during the identified holidays. This contract provides an opportunity for meaningful competitive employment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
